The Forest

I go back to the Forest, very nearly every single day.

I love the way the forest smells, I like the way it feels, I love the sounds, and the way it eliminates those “other” sounds.

I like the way it creates frames…

I like the way it filters the light…

I particularly like the spring flowers that grow only there…

The forest has moods….

The forest is a great place to find mushrooms…

…and ferns

I like how wildlife hides there…

The creatures

The birds

It’s impressively hard to penetrate…

But often cavernous once you’re in…

I like a Forest to peer into…

To look out of….

Even in the winter…

In the rain…

I love to take people and watch them discover it…

The Forest is mysterious…

I love that my daughter loves it…

I like the simple….

The complex…

The abstract…

I love the colors….

I love how many different kinds of shots I can get in just a quick hour…

The water is different in the Forest…

Did you know?

Exposure to the woods boosts the production of our Killer T-Cells…that first line of defense against infection?  Yep.

That test subjects who spent time in the woods reported being happier than on days where they didn’t?  Yep.

And that playing in the dirt of the forest almost certainly improves both our physical and mental health?  Yep.

I go back into the forest pretty much every day.  And take friends 🙂
